R Wesley Sierk III ChFC CLU ACI ARM CRIS

President & Co-Founder

Mr. Sierk is the President and Lead Strategist for Risk Management Advisors, Inc.  Wesley is an expert in executive compensation, corporate benefit planning, alternative risk transfer and captive insurance formation and management. 

Wesley has over 16 years helping highly profitable, closely held businesses limit their risk exposure and taxes through qualified plan structures, onshore and off-shore entities, and trust arrangements. He works with our clients' other professionals (CPAs, Attorneys, and Financial Advisors) to insure proper due diligence and implementation of our clients' plan designs and needs. He oversees the activities and results of the Risk Management Department. Because of his extensive background, he ensures compliance with all of the existing revenue rulings and regulations.


Mr. Sierk works primarily with highly profitable homebuilders, manufacturing companies, real estate developers, and sports and entertainment professionals. Prior to founding RMA, he spent 10 years with NMFN, where he developed high-end deferred compensation and benefit plans for public and private businesses and their executives.

The hallmark of Risk Management Advisors is its commitment to continuing education.   Mr. Sierk has been recognized as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Chartered Life Underwriter by the American College since 1996.  He was awarded the designation of CRIS (Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist) in 2006.  He is one of 43 people in the world who have attained the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation.

Mr. Sierk is a frequent speaker to industry associations as well as law and CPA firms on asset protection and how ordinary businesses can escape the hard/soft market of insurance by creating their own closely-held insurance companies.  He has been interviewed by many publications for his insight on insurance issues including The Los Angeles Times, Builder / Architect magazine, and the National Association of Homebuilders. He currently serves as an advisor to the United States Congress for issues that affect the financial well-being of young entrepreneurs and their businesses. 

He has authored many articles including “Taken Captive” published in Construction Today, “Facing Down High Insurance Premiums” in Builders Exchange, and “Captive Insurance Companies: They can Lower Costs and Increase Profits” from the Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation. The feedback was so positive from that article; he has another article on Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP) policies inside of a captive insurance company published in the July 2006 issue of the same taxation journal. He has authored a book on Captive Insurance published January 2008 titled “Taken Captive” and a book on wealth management and asset protection called “You Can Make It, But Can You Keep It?”


In addition to receiving numerous industry awards and frequently qualifying for the Top of the Table, his professional memberships include American Society of Pension Professional & Actuaries, Associations for Advanced Life Underwriters, and the International Forum.

 

Jarid S Beck ACI CRIS

Vice President & Co-Founder

Mr. Beck is Vice President and Co-Founder of Risk Management Advisors.  He is a career specialist in the design, implementation and management of  tax advantaged qualified and non-qualified plans.  Jarid also runs the captive management division for Risk Management Advisors.  His work in these areas has made him the primary resource for numerous advisors who seek similar benefits for their clientele. 

 Jarid has a Certified Financial Planner background and was awarded the CRIS (Construction Risk Insurance Specialist) designation in 2006.  He recently published an article "Forming a Captive Insurance Company: A Tax Perspective" with WebCPA and is a noted authority on the use of captive insurance companies to insure group medical benefits. 

 Mr. Beck graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Business Adminstration.  Mr. Beck recently obtained his ACI designation in 2008 and continues to excel in the ongoing changes and growth of Captive Insurance Companies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Max C Jong CFP ChFC

Senior Vice President

Mr. Jong is a Principal at Risk Management Advisors, Inc. He has been working with high net worth families and closely held business owners for over 14 years. The scope of his work includes high level estate planning, tax deductible qualified and non-qualified plans as well as alternative tax reduction strategies.

Mr. Jong began his career right out of UCLA at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. In addition building a successful practice, he recruited and developed one of the most productive groups of representatives nationally, ultimately heading up their office in Irvine, California.

Education is highly valued at Risk Management Advisors. Mr. Jong has been recognized as a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant by the American College since 1996. He was also awarded the Certified Financial Planner designation in 1999. The principals are frequently asked to speak at various industry functions for CPAs, Attorneys, Investment Advisors and CFPs.

Mr. Jong has also been active in the community for many years. He has been a Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire for over 6 years. He began his relationship with the agency as a Big Brother for over 10 years. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.

 

 

 

Stan Sung CFP

Senior Advisor

Mr. Sung is a Senior Advisor with Risk Management Advisors and specializes in strategies on tax reduction, asset protection, and legacy creation.  He is a Certified Financial Planner TM and brings to the table extensive experience in qualified and non-qualified retirement alternatives, asset optimization plans, estate planning, charitable planned giving, and insurance programs. 


Stan graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and a degree in Business. Immediately after graduation, he took a position with the number one office of Northwestern Mutual and applied his strong analytical skills to design financial plans. There, he received a number of awards working with his clients on personal investment and insurance planning.


After many years building a successful practice at Northwestern Mutual, Stan joined Risk Management Advisors as an advisor to highly-profitable private businesses, their owners, and accredited seniors on advanced financial planning strategies.  Stan is also the Founder/President of GENRICH, a company known for its dedicated programs that help charitable organizations, foundations, and educational institutions employ innovative financial strategies to attract more funding.  His work in the above areas has established him as a prominent resource for many professional advisors. Being so, Stan is Risk Management Advisors' key liaison to outside attorneys, CPAs, real estate, and financial advisors.


Stan has always had a passion for charity and philanthropy.  In the past he has been actively involved with many organizations that serve the community from APEX Youth Olympics and Mentoring Program, Union Rescue Mission, to Habitat for Humanity.  Stan is currently an active supporter of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.
